Are We Next?

September 4, 2009

Chelsea recently received a ban for signing a French youngster from Lens called Gael Kakuta. They can’t make any signings for the next two transfer windows because they broke Katuka’s contract in order to bring him to England. blah blah.

Incidentally, United have also signed a youngster from Le Havre. The club have decided to lodge an official complaint to FIFA, claiming that the player was still under contract at Havre when United snapped him up. Also they happen to say that United paid the youngster’s parents so they could come and live in England

FIFA are investigating allegations made by Le Havre that the Barclays Premier League champions offered cash to France Under 16 captain Paul Pogba to lure him to Old Trafford.

United argued that Pogba was not under contract with the French club when he signed for United in July. Le Havre managing director Alain Belsoeur claims to have documentation showing United offered inducements for Pogba to join them and has vowed to include it in submissions to the world’s governing body.

“We are still pursuing our case,” he said. ‘”a very serious case. We are confident that we’ll win because it is in the best interests not just of our club but of sport”.

Could United be the next club handed a ban from making transfers? What do you think?
